As of May 2025, the Cavendish S126 banana plantation at NETSCO’s Minh Lap Farm has entered the flowering stage, one of the most critical phases in the growth cycle of export-quality bananas.
The flowering process is occurring uniformly across large cultivation areas, reflecting the effectiveness of the farm’s cultivation and management practices throughout the previous growth stages. The plants are healthy and vigorous, producing large bunches with the expected number of hands, providing a strong foundation for a high-quality harvest.
During this period, NETSCO’s technical team intensifies monitoring activities and records detailed field data, including flowering dates for each production block. This allows for accurate harvest planning, typically scheduled 11 to 13 weeks after flowering to ensure optimal fruit maturity and export quality.
Alongside field operations, the farm’s packing house is being prepared to receive the upcoming harvest. Activities include inspection of grading and sorting lines, replenishment of packaging materials such as 13-kilogram carton boxes and protective PE bags, and coordination of harvest schedules.
A phased harvesting plan will be implemented across different plantation zones to ensure bananas are processed, packed, and loaded into containers as quickly as possible after cutting. This is a key factor in maintaining freshness and quality for long-distance export shipments.
